there’s a poem something like-
indra ka ayudh purush jo jhel sakta hai
singhh se bahe mila k khel sakta hai
shakti rahte huya nirupay ho jata..
…..then something something..
..
do you have any idea about who is the writer or where i will get it?

Jay - June 16, 2014

Name of poem is Urvashi written by ramdhari singh dinkar

Martya manav ke vijay ka toorya hoon mai,
Urvashi! apne samay ka soorya hu mai,
Andh tam ke bhaal pe paavak jalaata hu,
Badalo ke sheesh pe shyandan chalata hu..

Lekin jaane kya baat hai…

Indra ka ayudh purush jo jhel sakta hai,
Sinh se baahe milaa kar khel sakta hai,
Phool k aage wahi ashaay ho jaata,
Shakti ke rahte hue nirupay ho jaata,
Biddh ho jataa sahaj bankim nayan k baan se,
jeet leti rupasi naari use muskaan se!!

Someone had asked for Dinkar Ramdhari’s Shakti aur Kshama . I think it was a lady anmed Chadha.

Here it is:

At St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun, we were prescribed good hindi books and read some famous hindi poets. A good one I remember is Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Our teachers Chettri Sir and Chaturvedi Sir were outstanding. Chaturvedi’s sir knowledge of hockey was also outstanding……but thereby hangs another tale. I’m sure that one of my classmates ( 1966-1975) would remember and send their comments.
Amazingly, I came across a beautiful website dedicated to hindi poetry lovers, which I would like to share with you – https://hindipoetry.wordpress.com. Do take out time to read the same.

मत छुओ इस झील को;
कंकडी मारो नही;

Hi! I am also a great fan of Hindi poetry and I read aloud/or recite on days I am feeling low and it is an instant perk up! I remember the line from one of Dinkar’s poems: Irsha tu na gayi mere man se. I don’t know which poem this was but if any of you can have it sent to me that would be just great.

I feel Hindi poems and full of passions/emotions and they come alive/inspire( Rongte ko chu jaati hai). My favourite is Mochiram and the other one is Himmat Karne Walon Ki Haar Nahin Hoti

Friends ,
I have translated few verses from the sixth chapter of Krukshetra. I wish to know how bad it is.

” The hasty growth of the human
Has earned a never before charm.
Below his feet the earth lies common
And the sky settled in his palm.

I very much regret to say
His brain alone has bloomed a lot
Man has traveled long in his way
Leaving behind the land of heart.

Man creates a new thing each day
Celebrates a fair of wisdom.
But the gods groan in dismay
Feeling a pain in their bosom.

Gods long for the love of the heart
Not the wisdom alone to greet.
Something like cheese, silky and soft
That would melt soon, when gets the heat.

Few fragrant flowers they need
In the burning grove of being.
In the desert of knowledge indeed
A swelling stream of smooth feeling.”

I have a copy of Jaydradh vadh. I could send by post.
