घाट से आते हुए
कदम्ब के नीचे खड़े कनु को
ध्यानमग्न देवता समझ, प्रणाम करने
जिस राह से तू लौटती थी बावरी
आज उस राह से न लौट
उजड़े हुए कुंज
रौंदी हुई लताएँ
आकाश पर छायी हुई धूल
क्या तुझे यह नहीं बता रहीं
कि आज उस राह से
कृष्ण की अठारह अक्षौहिणी सेनाएँ
युद्ध में भाग लेने जा रही हैं!
आज उस पथ से अलग हट कर खड़ी हो
बावरी!
लताकुंज की ओट
छिपा ले अपने आहट प्यार को
आज इस गाँव से
द्वारका की युद्धोन्मत्त सेनाएँ गुजर रही हैं
मान लिया कि कनु तेरा
सर्वाधिक अपना है
मान लिया कि तू
उसकी रोम-रोम से परिचित है
मान लिया कि ये अगणित सैनिक
एक-एक उसके हैं:
पर जान रख कि ये तुझे बिलकुल नहीं जानते
पथ से हट जा बावरी
यह आम्रवृक्ष की डाल
उनकी विशेष प्रिय थी
तेरे न आने पर
सारी शाम इस पर टिक
उन्होंने वंशी में बार-बार
तेरा नाम भर कर तुझे टेरा था-
आज यह आम की डाल
सदा-सदा के लिए काट दी जायेगी
क्योंकि कृष्ण के सेनापतियों के
वायुवेगगामी रथों की
गगनचुम्बी ध्वजाओं में
यह नीची डाल अटकती है
और यह पथ के किनारे खड़ा
छायादार पावन अशोक-वृक्ष
आज खण्ड-खण्ड हो जाएगा तो क्या -
यदि ग्रामवासी, सेनाओं के स्वागत में
तोरण नहीं सजाते
तो क्या सारा ग्राम नहीं उजाड़ दिया जायेगा?
दुःख क्यों करती है पगली
क्या हुआ जो
कनु के ये वर्तमान अपने,
तेरे उन तन्मय क्षणों की कथा से
अनभिज्ञ हैं
उदास क्यों होती है नासमझ
कि इस भीड़-भाड़ में
तू और तेरा प्यार नितान्त अपरिचित
छूट गये हैं,
गर्व कर बावरी!
कौन है जिसके महान् प्रिय की
अठारह अक्षौहिणी सेनाएँ हों?

wow! a wonderful collection of poems telling the tale of this complex life in their own way full of emotions and feelings.and am not surprised to find that someone on the internet with a disticnt love for hindi poems is from my homestate Bihar!Seems you still have your feet firmly on ground even after a IIT+IIM combo which in modern India is considered a sureshot ticket to stardom.

Wish I too could have a page of my own on the net..but then am too lazy to be penning down so many words daily
and hey why havent you updated the page with many more poems of dinkar, suman, dushyant kumar (whoi wrote “ho gayi hai peer parvat si, pighalni chahiye , aaj is himalaya se koi ganga nikalni chahiye…)..am looking forward to read so many of golden oldies at your page..and hope I wont be disappointed!
